Among the Trees
May 20, 2021
I love to walk among the trees,
To listen as the wind turns the leaves.
I like the sun, as it dapples the ground,
With streaming beams, shining down.
To smell the earth wearing forest perfume,
A mixture of loam, and leaf, with copious bloom.
The woods are refuge from unnatural life,
An oasis from our technologically induced strife.
A place where nature is still allowed to be free,
And, when I go there, I realize, what it means to be me.
